    Dawn Chorus

    Nature & Biodiversity
    Sun 3rd May 2026 14:00
    Location
    Town Park, Tullamore

Thanks to Richard Jack for leading this morning’s #dawnchorus walk in #Tullamore. We set out from Offaly County Council Lloyd Park and made our way to Tullamore Wetland, taking in the sights and sounds along the route.

A large variety of species greeted us, with blackbirds dominating the early chorus. As the light increased, more voices joined in, building into a rich and varied soundscape. At the wetlands we heard Sedge Warbler and Reed Bunting, two highlights before retracing our footsteps to pick up the late risers 🐦🐦‍⬛

Thanks to Richard and all who got up early to join us. Thanks also to the The Heritage Council for supporting this event and the Offaly Naturalists' Field Club.
