The importance of Green School initiatives across Tullamore’s 16 schools with multiple Green Flag awards instills a solid environmental ethos in our young children and teenagers, custodians and leaders of tomorrow.
In order to maximise youth engagement Tullamore Tidy Towns strives to create awareness by highlighting important initiatives through our Green Schools network.
We support our Green Schools by making direct contact with or by providing details of expert and appropriate advisors where possible.
Hosting hands-on events with an education-focus and elements of fun gain best results.
We aim to nurture Junior Tidy Towns to safeguard the future of Tidy Towns for generations to come.
Various local youth groups participate in related initiatives and Tidy Towns work with Transition Year to help coordinate this group to represent their ideas to Tidy Towns. It is apparent that more schools are organising litter picks in their immediate area and sharing photos of this important work.
